A slight confusion occurs when Ross calls his "almost wife" with the wrong name right near the altar during the wedding. This doesn’t stop the whole ceremony but puts the basis for the future conflicts between them. And those conflicts will show up very soon after Ross and Emily become a married couple. Eventually this yet another Ross's attempt to make a family won’t work and his second marriage will come to the end rather quickly, with the main reason for this represented in Rachel. Having no place to stay in NY Ross first becomes a new roommate for Chandler and Joey, but later takes a nearby apartment from where he can see everything that goes on in Monica’s and Rachel windows. Thanks to this view he will understand that there’s something between his sister and his friend Chandler. Actually, he will become the last from the gang who discovers this so a new couple between friends will be revealed.
