The explosion which became a cliffhanger for the previous seasn was really strong. Many people were inside the apartment at that awful moment but first it seems that everyone survived. Still there are many people who are seriously injured. It is understood later that Shay’s wounds are critical and threaten her life. She cannot be saved and dies rather soon. This death is a serious stroke to everyone, it’s a great loss for many characters, especially for the Kelly. After six weeks it is revealed that Severide haven’t returned to the Firehouse after the accident with the explosion. Later Casey intends to find him and they meet at Kelly’s cabin. No words are strong enough for Severide to persuade him to return.
