The confrontation between Bohannon and Durant continues when Cullen makes a plan on how to gain the control over the railroad. Although Durant is imprisoned he wants to stop Cullen by all means possible. The former slave Elam now occupies the serious position - he becomes the new boss in the local railroad police. It is soon revealed in the series he and his wife Eva become the parents to their newly born baby. Cullen has to seek for a justice when there is a crime on the railroad. Local sheriff is murdered by the member of a Mormon family. This accident draws the attention of the New York Tribune and they send a reporter to cover the events.
