Zoe finds herself in a confusing situation. Her feelings to George and Wade are in conflict after she had slept with Wade. She must choose and both men require a pretty fast answer from her. A former Bluebell inhabitant suddenly returns. Her name is Ruby and looks like there are not many people in town who are happy to see her again. Mayor Lavon is among the most unpleased to find out that Ruby Jeffries is back in town as they have a common history. Nonetheless Zoe and Ruby become friends rather fast. Eventually Zoe prefers Wade over George. She talks to George and says he should date some other girl. After that her romantic affair with Wade develops.
