Pope Innocent VIII is dead and there are many others who desire to take his place, because at the end of 15th century Popes had almost absolute power in changing the empire’s fate - they could crown the kings and dethrone them. Cardinal Rodrigo Borgia is going to take the Pope’s power by all means possible. With the help of his sons he convinces other cardinals to vote for him. But his methods of persuasion are not that pious - he uses bribes, promises of lands, gold and ranks. All that brings him to becoming a next pontifex - Alexander VI. Of course, there are cardinals who are not happy with this choice. Cardinals Orsini and Della Rovere start to prepare a plot against new Pope. But Rodrigo Borgias hasn’t put his name into history along with good deeds…
