After an occasional blood test at school the lives of two young and very different girls suddenly changes a lot. They discover they do not actually belong to the families they were raised in While one of the girls is deaf the whole story is balancing between the family problems, school life and deaf culture. In the fourth season there will be even more place for the uneasy choices both girls have to make and relationships they have to deal with. After the summer break girls still have to experience the aftermath of Bay's actions when earlier she took the blame for Daphne. Emmett is about to leave for the study which means he has also to leave Bay. Meanwhile Daphne goes to college.
