The Universe didn’t receive the new God in Castiel’s form, as it reveals Castiel has turned into a “modified” or mutated angel with huge conceit. Very soon he understands than his vessel has a serious lack of endurance to resist the army of monsters from Purgatory fighting inside. The situation gets worse when the Leviathans are found among those breaking free monsters, because they are God’s oldest and definetly most failed creatures. Eventually they blow up Castiel into many small pieces and escape to different parts of the world through the rivers and seas. After that Winchesters understand that those evil and “made-before-angels-and-people” monsters have inhabited the bodies of many ordinary people around the globe and started the campaign to strengthen their power and might.
