The Hamptons is a place for Gossip Girl's summer vacation. All the summer Serena and Nate had been playing the game "we're dating, we're a couple". This small deception (fake relationship) was a reliable way for Nate to keep his secret - sex relationships with a woman, who's well known in his circles. They also have to hide because she's much older than he is. The wonderful vacation soon will be over. Some of their friends, particularly Dan and his sister, had spent the whole summer never leaving the Big Apple. Their father had been wandering around the country with concerts. Meanwhile, Queen “B” comes back from her European voyage and together with many impressions and memoirs brings her new “high society” boyfriend - Lord Marcus. This won't go unnoticed by Chuck. When Serena is still on her vacation in the Hamptons Dan decides to go there and have a serious talk with her.
